Luxury fashion house Hermès has opened its largest, multi-storey shop, in the region, at The Dubai Mall.
Designed by Parisian architecture agency, RDAI, the 976m2 space is located in the mall’s new fashion avenue, as part of its extension.
Its façade has been customised with taupe terracotta vertical louvers with a glass front and windows designed with a screen-printed motif. At night, the exterior illuminates the Hermès sign that sits atop the building. On the inside, the store has an open-plan space and an eight-metre-high ceiling.
The store’s collection features silk, leather goods, equestrian, men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, watches and jewellery, fragrances and home products.
The second floor has a dedicated space for the Art de Vivre collections and made-to-measure, bespoke services.
Illustrator Jan Bajtlik designed the windows with alphabet inspired by Hermès’ annual theme ‘Let’s Play!’, featuring an abstract and playful image of the Dubai landscape.
The windows will showcase a revolving programme of local and international artists and designers, who will exhibit their works in conversation with the brand’s objects and collections.
The house of Hermès, which was established in 1837, started as harness makers. The family-owned company is managed by CEO Axel Dumas, under the creative direction of Pierre-Alexis Dumas, both from the sixth generation of family members. More
